Barraca-style cooking elevated to the highest gastronomic level
This restaurant is the dream of its Alicante-born owner, who, deeply connected to his family tradition, has decided to bring this authentic way of cooking to Catalonia. In this space, the heart of the project beats in rhythm with the embers: a kitchen that breathes smoke and warmth.
Everything at Soca-rel revolves around the color black—the color of the embers, the flame, the ash. The entire design, both inside and out, is conceived around this chromatic palette, turning color into a guiding thread for the gastronomic experience.
The kitchen, accessed through a striking black box, becomes the restaurant’s neural center. From the flooring to the counters and the wood, every element is designed to make fire the main protagonist and to turn each dish—cooked exclusively over embers—into a work of art.
Craft and wood
Wood has been one of the guiding elements of the project, in harmony with the type used for grilling: vine shoots.
This material is repeated throughout the restaurant, bringing unity and authenticity to the experience.
In addition, a Japanese technique has been used, which involves charring cedar wood and then treating it with wax, resulting in a unique texture.
Nature, landscape, and an unforgettable experience.
The terrace and porch invite guests to enjoy the outdoors, sunset views, and an honest connection with nature. With the floral intervention of Mireia Abras, the surroundings engage in dialogue with the fire within.
In the second phase of the project, the indoor dining rooms and other spaces will be renovated, preserving the black essence, the warmth of fire, and a gastronomic proposal that elevates tradition to its highest level.
